Welcome to Secrets Tulum: A Luxurious Retreat for Romantic Getaways
All of the rooms opened on April 1, 2024. This 300-room haven is located in Aldea Zama is a prime spot. Nestled between the vibrant downtown and the picturesque beach road of Tulum. Designed as a “2-experience” resort, it offers both a luxurious stay at the main resort and a quaint beach club experience.
Unrivaled Accommodations at Secrets Tulum
Room Varieties for Every Taste
Secrets Tulum caters to all preferences. Guests can choose from junior suites with king beds and tropical views. Or they can choose the unique swim-up suites that offer privacy above the pool level. Not to mention the opulent five-bedroom beachfront villa. This provides 24/7 chef, concierge, and private shuttle services. This ensures true exclusive and intimate experiences for those who choose it.
All junior suites feature tubs on the balconies, offering a private, luxurious touch. The swim-up suites are uniquely positioned above the ground and pool levels. This provides enhanced privacy and exclusive access to a separate pool, not connected to the main pool or swim-up bar. These suites also offer the option of a floating breakfast for $90, an indulgent experience perfect for honeymooners. Additionally, the resort offers Preferred Club master suites for those seeking more lavish accommodations.
Personally, the rooms in Building C facing the Zen pool stood out for their serene views and peaceful ambiance. If you are going to splurge on your honeymoon, your room category and location are a must.

The resort’s dining options are a foodie delight, ranging from casual snacks at the beach club to gourmet meals at the à la carte restaurant. The all-inclusive aspect is particularly appealing in Tulum, where dining out can be an expensive affair.
The resort’s all-inclusive package adds convenience, covering all dining and drinking needs without the worry of additional costs. Enjoy everything from chips and hot dogs to exquisite local and international cuisine, all within the comfort of the resort.

Relax and rejuvenate at the spa cabins discreetly located away from the lively beach club area. Even near the vibrant DJ sets, these spas offer a tranquil retreat to unwind with a variety of treatments aimed at couples looking to escape everyday stresses.
Activities and Experiences for Every Couple
Beach Club and Pool Pleasures
The beach club features a small pool and a stunning beach setup with regular chairs and luxurious cabanas (for an additional fee). It can only be accessed via a 15-minute shuttle service.
We had no traffic or other issues, but it can get busy and take longer. They have 3 beach shuttles (some have the capacity for 20 people, some are smaller) that run every 30 minutes starting at 9:30 a.m. from the hotel to the beach club. The last shuttle leaves the beach club to the hotel at 5:30 p.m. At the beach club entrance, TV screens show where the shuttles are so you can see when the next one will arrive.
There are regular chairs and cabanas, and even a Preferred Club section at the beach. The cabanas, even in PC are extra cost. One nice thing to note about the beach club is that they have lockers there, so if you want to store your stuff and go for a walk down the beach road to explore, visit the famous Ven a la Luz sculpture (5 min walk), etc.
The tiny pool was very crowded. We were there mid-day and there were about 3 empty seats at the beach, but not together. They are very strict about moving the beach chairs and they have to be kept in 2 lines. Moreover, you can’t move them up and around. Despite its size, the club offers a serene escape with beautiful ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for couples to spend quality time together.
Local Attractions and Resort Entertainment
Beyond the pools, the resort offers daily entertainment like foam parties and DJ sessions at the rooftop pool. For those looking to explore, the nearby Ven a la Luz sculpture is a must-see. The resort’s unique location in Tulum also makes it an excellent base for visiting local beach clubs and enjoying the vibrant nightlife.
They also have 2 spa cabins at the beach club, set back from the DJ but you could probably still hear it a little. It is the only all-inclusive beach club in Tulum, so that is very nice because drinks and food are VERY expensive at the beach clubs in Tulum.
Planning Your Stay at Secrets Tulum
Navigating the Resort
The pools are nice and interesting. There is sand everywhere! I personally like sand so it didn’t bother me, but it is around the pools so if sand is a problem for you, be forewarned. They recently opened a few more pools on the rooftop for Preferred Club. Cabanas are $30 around the pool. If you buy a bottle of alcohol, you get a cabana. Alcohol prices are between $40-$100.
The layout of Secrets Tulum is intriguing, offering a sense of seclusion with its compartmentalized areas and lush pathways. For those concerned with mobility, the resort is equipped with ramps and elevators to facilitate easy movement across its sandy expanses. They do have a lot of stairs, and in some places, there are ramps or elevators to bypass them, but due to that and all of the sand, I think it would be a bit challenging for someone with mobility challenges.
With a capacity for hosting large events like weddings under the stars and offering a comprehensive all-inclusive package, Secrets Tulum provides a perfect blend of romance, luxury, and convenience.
Conclusion: Is Secrets Tulum the Right Choice for You?
Overall I think it’s a nice option for those wanting to be in Tulum, but needing that all-inclusive situation. According to Lori, the whole point of Tulum is to explore all the cool beach clubs, restaurants and things to do around the area. So, all-inclusive is not really necessary. But if you are looking for a resort that gives you the all-inclusive ease and the central location, Secrets Tulum is right for you.
